Partial data on desktop, full data on service

Hi This might be a basic question, please help.

I am working on Desktop, how to load the data partially in dekstop for development.

Once my development is done, I am publishing the PBI file to Service. Once after publish, need to do a full refresh with all data. 

So far I am following ths way. I am restricing my query to pull only a month data for development. once I am done with development, I am remvoing that considiotn in query, refreshing the desktop version, then publishing it to Service. 

this is taking a lot of time to refresh full data in local desktop version. 

Any solution please suggest.
