Paramter into power bi service dashboard

Hi guys,

Is it possible to require an end-user to enter a parameter into Power Query when they open the file in the Power BI service? I know there is the option to make a parameter Required but I want it to actually prompt the user to enter the parameter when they open the report as opposed to going with the default value until you go in and manually change the parameter.

Hi @twister8889 ,

It's not supported in Power BI now. I suggest you create an idea for it in

https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas to improve the power bi.

You can try to refer to the preview function Dynamic M query parameters. let report viewers to use filters or slicers to set the value(s) for a parameter. Please refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-dynamic-m-query-parameters
