PLEASE Help - External Online Workspace Access Problem

Hello!

I have a client currently receiving the below error message:

'Permission required

You cannot see the content of this report because you do not have permissions to the underlying dataset. Please contact the dataset owner to request access.'

As dataset owner, I have removed and re-added her access to our permissions links/lists and tried resharing access links with them multiple times; however none of these methods are working. Anyone experience this error before or have any potential solutions?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi @alexijackson2 ,

Check if the user sharing has a power bi pro license, if the report is in the premium capacity, then the power bi free user can, in addition you can try the following ways to share.

after you share the workspace to the guest user, provide them with the Tenant URL.

To find the tenant URL, follow these steps.

  1. In the Power BI service, in the header menu, select help (?), then select About Power BI.

  2. Look for the value next to Tenant URL. Share the tenant URL with your allowed guest users.

By the Tenant URL, they can sign in to the guest user account and see any content you have shared with them.

Thank you for your response!

Yes, I was informed that the user has a pro license and I've attempted to share the tenant URL and resharing the specific user link and it still kicked back the same error message.

@alexijackson2 , Please give access to workspace as Viewer or try to share via the app

Thank you for your response, I've re-added them access as Viewer but still did not work. I have the dashboard 'Include in app' setting already turned on not sure if this is what you're referring to (first image) or if you're referring to the 'Develop a template app' advanced setting option (second image).
