PBI export to CSV: number format exports wrongly

Hi all,

I have created a table visual in Power BI looking like this (European number format is set correctly in Power BI):

ProjectAmount
A1.171,22
B3.337,53

So far, so good. However, when I export this table to CSV by clicking the three dots of the visual, the number format gets messed up in the CSV file. The numbers look as follows when opening the CSV file:

ProjectAmount
A1171.22
B33.375.299.999.999.900

So for project A, the dot disappears and the comma becomes a dot. For project B, it gets totally messed up though, adding dots at multiple places. Does anyone have any idea what is happening and how to make sure my export goes right?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Dear,

I have found the issue! Apparently as my decimals were set to "auto" in Power BI, the number of decimals changed in a strange way when exporting to a CSV file, causing dots to arise where they shouldn't in the CSV file. When setting the number of decimals fixed to 2 in Power BI, the export works fine!

Best regards,

Hello @Anonymous

It looks like system configuration issue. Can you share the sample pbix file?

Cheers!
