Hi,
I am trying to assign a subset of users in the Organization table to view all employee data in the dashboard. Any other users found in that table should not be able to view any data. Among this subset of users, only 1 of them is connected via data model to the other table, Ownership.
The following users should be able to view all employee data:
My current progress on this so far is I've implemented the hierarchy statically using PATH and PATHITEM in calculated columns and created the Modeling role. However, I seem to not be getting the correct results.
Thank you for all your help!
Hi @Anonymous,
Can you please share some dummy data that keep the raw data structure with expected results? It should help us clarify your scenario and test to coding formula.

@Anonymous I mean you can surely put the logic based on the user name but I think it is not the right approach. There has to be a business logic who can see what, no?

@parry2k I see your point. Given the constaint of not being able to publish the report to a different workspace and assign those users there, makes it tougher to create a proper connection with the rest of the data.
Do you have any recommendations on how I could pursue an RLS solution using the data in the pbix, if any comes to mind?
@Anonymous is there any identifier who can see all the employees and others cannot see it?

@parry2kby identifier, do you mean who is assigned to view others data? if so, then unfortunately no.
Those 6 people were randomly choosen to view all data points based on their involvment in the project. Everyone else, although they are tied to products in the Ownership table, should not be able to see any data.
