Hello dear Community,
i am actually in the last steps of finishing my report in terms of Cost for my Company. It also contains a Matrix / Table, where i listed several Cost Categories and the monthly numbers filterable per Year, Facility and Department. In my source file we have a standardized order how the categories are listed. Please see below:
When i was creating my Matrix the order of the cost categories was displayed comepletely different, even if i was filtering it one by one in the correct order from the source file. This is what it looks like:
Can you guys tell me if there is a solution how to order these categories without any manipulation in the data source? Something that is fast and sustainable as i dont will change the order of these Cost categories after publishing it. Thank you very much!

Hi @Lucas1006 ,
Please add a new column that represents the standardized order of your cost categories. For example, if you have categories like "Materials", "Labor", and "Overhead", you might assign them order values like 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
In Power BI Desktop, go to the "Modeling" tab, select your cost category column, and then use the "Sort by Column" feature to sort it by the new order column you created.
For more detailed guidance on sorting, you might find the following documentation helpful:
