Order Number x-axis in Stacked Bar Chart in Descending Order

Hello all,

I have a stacked bar chart with an x-axis with both positive and negative numbers. I'd like to have the x-axis ordered in desending order, with the positive numbers on the left. But I do not see an option in the visual settings for ordering in desending or asending order. If I change it to text, I can see the option to in the ellipsis menu of the visual to order in ascending or descending order, but that order is alphabetical, which is not what I want.

See the picture below for what I want to accomplish.

Thanks!

Hi, @Anonymous

In my stacked bar chart there is an option for ascending or descending order, not sure why yours doesn't have it, but never mind, try selecting the fields on the X-axis to view the column tool, click Sort by column and select the fields on the X-axis.

If this doesn't work, then try creating a sorted column. First create a sorted table, use the X-axis fields to establish relationships, use RELATED function to create new column, and then sort by index column.

Thank you, adding the sort column did work!

Add another calculated column to your table that holds the field for your x axis. set the calculation to something like "1 minus field value".  Then sort your x axis column by the new column.

You may get a circular reference error - in that case add the column in Power Query.
