Oracle database connection issue

Hi All,

I am trying to connect Oracle Database to Power BI, I am facing below issue even after installing the latest ODAC. Could anyone help me to solve this issue while connecting data to Oracle Database.

Hi @Arul ,

Please try:

(1)Remove the redundant ODAC clients from your computer, or uninstall and reinstall one all to ensure that only 1 ODAC client exists.

(2)Ensure that the only ODAC installed meets all requirements.

  • Oracle Data Access Client (ODAC) software must be installed on the computer running Power BI Desktop. Installed ODAC must:

    • be version 11.2 or greater
    • match the version of Power BI Desktop installed: 32-bit or 64-bit
    • be compatible with your Oracle Server
    • be Windows installer version (since xcopy version does not work with Power BI)
    • have the “Configure ODP.NET and/or Oracle Providers for ASP.NET at machine-wide level” enabled by selecting the corresponding checkbox during the setup wizard
    • include the ODP.NET drivers

(3)Try downloading Power BI Desktop from the Download Center instead of the Microsoft Store and downgrading to ODAC 11.x.

@Arul

Hi, there is a message in the error and I guess you might have tried that, what happened?

Regards.

Ritesh

@ribisht17 ,

after followed the steps mentioned in this MS docs https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connect-oracle-database , I am still getting the same error message even after installed supported version of ODAC from the official page.

Thanks,

Arul
