Only show month-day(quarterly) or year Quarter on X axis and show full range of Y axis in Power BI c

Hi everyone,

Hope you all are doing well. I have a question about X/Y axis in PBI Line chart.

1. about Y axis, I have a data range from 2% to 14%, y axis only shows 0% to 10% when I reduce the size of line chart, those data who higher than 10% are still in chart but y axis range could cover the data range. My desirable chart should be like this: y range from 0% to 15%.

2. About X axis. My dataset is weekly plus month-end day dataset from 2019, we need to show the entire dataset in line chart. PBI automatically shows year only, we would like to see quarterly dates on x axis in the format of "March-31" or "2019-Q1" on the vertical direction. I tried to adjust interval, but didn't make it.

can I have your help on these?

Hi @XiaozheZHANG

Regarding your first question, I'm a bit confused, do you want the visualization to shrink and still show the original maximum value of the y-axis? As you can see in the image below.

vxuxinyimsft_2-1716442982563.png

Do you want the y-axis to always show 0.0065?

Regarding your second question, the following steps are for your reference.

1. Create a calculated column

endOfQuarter = EOMONTH(CALCULATE(ENDOFQUARTER(financials[Date])), 0)

2. Change the Type of the X-axis to Categorical.

Output:

If I have misunderstood you, please provide some sample data and expected results based on the sample data so that I can help you better. How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum - Microsoft Fabric Community Or show it as a screenshot or pbix. Please remove any sensitive data in advance. If uploading pbix files please do not log into your account.

hi Thanks for your help. I am sorry that I didn't present it very clearly. our data is weekly data, I think I would like to change X-axis date interval only and date will match data accordingly on X-axis. so, line won't change, only change date.
