hey everyone. So i am creating a powerbi dashboard it contains dataset from 2 sources a dataflow and a sql server. but the issue is
when I add the sql server to gateway its fine but it is also asking me for the dateflow. How do you add a dataflow to gateway. i was under the impression that dataflow doesnt reuqire gateway. when I remove the sql server from data sources it start to work fine no issue. I have already ticked the following and still the issue comes. Whats the fix for this. I need to add data sources from the other place as well

Hi @khansheh ,
The dataflow is not required for the gateway, you can get the detail in this official documentation.
And the following one is the thread which has the same problem as yours, please check its solution. Hope it can also help you solve the problem.
Gateway Error - Cannot be added to gateway
I took my reports off the service, rebuilt the dataflow and uploaded them again. It seemed to have fixed the issue, still not sure what caused the failure but the classic on/off approach has saved the day again.
I took a different approach. Too troubleshoot, I turned off all the 'include in report refresh" in power query for the tables connected to a dataflows. Uploaded and to and check to see if refresh worked. It did. Then I turned them all back on, and everything worked.
Dataflows are still in beta, seems to be a bug. But at least now I can combine data from multiple excel online spreadsheets.
Best Regards
@khansheh , For dataflow, it should not ask for on-premise gateway, It should only ask for credentials in the option below the gateway.
What is the error above SQL Server, if that is because of some unused connection, delete that from the file and republish
Hey @amitchandak
There are only 2 data connection one dataflow and one on premisis MS SQL server connection. The pbi doesnt show an error if i remove the dataflow and keep MS SQL server or remove MS SQL server and keep dataflow.
