Following are the question(s) on Excel Source to Power BI:

1) How to connect Office 365 Excel to Power BI?

2) What is the scanario where Shared folder is better option then Offcie 365 as  Excel data source for Power BI

3) What is the disadvantages of using Office 365 Excel instead of shard folder in Power BI

1) If the Excel is on cloud, you can use Web connector (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AFFft3OLPQ) or maybe directly Sharepoint connector.

2) For instance, imagine you have a folder of sales. Inside you have each country, inside each year and inside the months. With folder connection you will be able to append them easily.

3) I don't think there are any specific disadvantage, but since it is shared... someone may change something in the structure (?)
