I'm observing a changed behavior when importing data. In the past, if you added a new query from the same source as a previously imported table, it would independently import its data. These times, it seems that it will also refresh the previous loaded query, even though you made no changes to it.
Is there a new feature that triggers this behavior? How do I circumvent this? I tried to disable the refresh, but it triggers on its own a new refresh of the query that you can't block.
Can you describe your scenario further? If you create a reference to your original query, it will get refreshed whenever the downstream query is refreshed.

I'm aware of that.
Step 1 - other table get fully loaded in.
Step 2 - Create blank query in Power Query
Step 3 - copy paste text from advanced edit from other report into this one
Step 4 - Close & Apply
At step 3, the respective query from the other report is, needless to say, not a reference query but rather standalone.
