OLE SB error

How to fix OLE DB or ODBC error: exception from HRSULT:0x80040E4E error

Hi @Rohan_surti

The "OLE DB or ODBC error: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040E4E" typically occurs in Power BI when there's an issue with data connectivity or transformation. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve it:

  1. Refresh each table individually: Sometimes, this will make it work again.
  2. Check for Null Values: Ensure there are no null values in the keys used to connect tables.
  3. Fix or Filter Out Errors: Fix or filter out any errors from the queries in Power Query Editor. The preview data displays only 1000 rows. Sometimes there might be error in other rows.
  4. Remove Connections Between Tables: Temporarily remove relationships between tables and try refresh. If the refresh completes successfully, re-create the relationships manually.
  5. Check Data Types: Ensure that all fields are correctly formatted, especially date fields.

If all of above steps don't help, you could refer to the following thread. Many users have encountered this issue before, and the solutions they shared might be helpful to you. You can give it a try.

If you are worried that certain actions might cause other irreversible issues, you can first save multiple copies of the original file before proceeding with troubleshooting.

If all suggestions do not work, please provide more information like: Where does this issue occur? What operation will cause this error? What is your data source? Does this issue persist? If you can find more error details, please share it with us.
