Number of days between dates (one is selectedvalue)

Hello!

i need to calculate the number of employees in one specific month but with some condition:

  • I have a slicer with a date defined (calendar.[date]) corresponding to the date i want to analyse. Let's take as example, 31/01/2023.

So i need to calculate the number of employees if the month of January "adjusted"  with some conditions.

  • If the employee admission.date is prior to 01/01/2023 and Leaving.Date is after 31/01/2023, he has been present the whole month, so, this condition returns "176" (hours);
  • If the employee admission.date is in January  and Leaving.Date is after 31/01/2023, i need to calculate de difference between admission.date and selectedvalue(calendar.[date] and mutiply the number of days with 5.87;
  • If the employee admission.date is prior to 01/01/2023 and Leaving.Date is during january, i need to calculate de difference between leaving.date and selectedvalue(calendar.[date] and mutiply the number of days with 5.87

i'have triend some DATE funcitons (datediff, datesbetween,...) but as i don't have unique dates in employee table, it doesn't work...

Thanks!

@Anonymous Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.

Sorry my english is not very good but i'll try to explain better:

I have and employee table like this:

details_0-1675961325478.png

In my dashboard i have a slicer with the date i want to analyse:

details_1-1675961537144.png

So the expect output is this :

details_2-1675962739059.png

but there is a problem: i have multiple employees with the same admissiondate and also with same LeavingDate

I hope this get things more clear 🙂
Thank you!
