Not able to Count or Distinct Count attribute values in Power BI Desktop after using Tabular Editor
I am no longer able to count the values of an attribute in any table now that I started using Calculation Groups in Tabular Editor via Power BI Desktop.
Here is a picture illustrating what I could do before creating a Calculation Group in Tabular Editor:

Has anyone experienced this same problem? Note the Calculation Group, and corresponding Calculation Items, do not use values from the example above. It seems the capability of counting values is completely removed from Power BI Desktop. I even changed the Summarize By value in Tabular Editor for the field and it still did not work. See Tabular Editor screenshot below for reference.

I did the following test and found that once you create a calculation group in tabular editor, we will no longer see implicit measures. Explicit measures need to be created manually. For details, please refer to the official documents.Best Regards,

Thank you so much ! I thought i was going insane. I had two stacked column charts that appeared identical and yet were not giving the same result.

RobertUrbanski , As far as I remember, once you did modification the tabular edition(calculation group) you have to create measure /change aggregation from there. You will not be able to change aggregation in power bi.

RobertUrbanski yes, once you have added a calculation group, you cannot use implicit measures anymore, you have to write explicit measures.
