No data in the Navigator after connect the file

Hello

I have an excel file in SharePoint but when I connect the file in Power BI, it shows no data.

Do you know why?

Hello @pang22 ,

Since you haven't given a specific explanation of your problem, I will help you eliminate them one by one from the following points.

  • Check File Permissions:

Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to view the data in the SharePoint Excel file. If you are not the owner of the file, request the owner to check the permissions and grant you access if needed.

  • Verify the File Path:

Double-check the file path or URL you are using to connect to the SharePoint Excel file to ensure it is correct.

  • Check the Excel File:

Open the Excel file directly from SharePoint to confirm that it contains data. Ensure that the data is in a structured format that Power BI can recognize (e.g., tables or named ranges).

  • Refresh the Data Source:

In Power BI, try refreshing the data source to see if the data appears. Go to the 'Home' tab, and click on 'Refresh' or use the 'Refresh' option in the 'Queries' pane.

  • Reconnect the File:

Disconnect and then reconnect the Excel file in Power BI to see if this resolves the issue. When reconnecting, make sure to select the correct options for how the data should be imported (e.g., 'Import' or 'DirectQuery').

  • Check Power BI Version:

Ensure that you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop. An outdated version may have compatibility issues with SharePoint.

  • Clear Cache:

Sometimes clearing Power BI's cache can resolve unexpected issues. You can do this by going to 'File' > 'Options and settings' > 'Options' > 'Data Load' and clearing the cache.

Best Regards,

Jayleny

@pang22 , This Strange. Make sure link is correct. In case it used some login, make sure that is correct.

Otherwise, click on 'Transform Data' and open Power Query to check if there are any additional setups automatically added that have removed data.
