New to Power BI - Need help with multiple data sources into one report

Hello all,

I am brand spanking new to Power BI, but a need in my organisation needed to be filled and it seems as though I am the one that needs to do it.

I have already begun the process of cramming as many you tube videos in as I can and I am starting to grasp many of the basics. However...

My issue is that I want to start filling the need but where I don't even know where to start is I have 3 seperate IT systems that take user input. They all capture similar/same information but they will do it in different ways... and also for me to report properly I cannot treat them independantly because it is like they are all pieces from the same puzzle but written in different languages. I would like to provide example but it contains highly sensitive information.

The relationship of the 3 systems is like this System A shares information with System B, System B also share information with System C, System A and C dont share information but they collect the same information but in different formats. All 3 systems are used by the organisation and form a single picture.

Some real world examples of the problems I face with the data are that some "classifications" in systems A & C are the same but are labelled different (e.g. System A marks an entry as "cat" and System C marks an entry as "feline"). There are a host of problems I wont get into as to why I cannot change these to match in the system but needless to say I can't.

Another example is System A & C might put these "cats" into groupings based on species (e.g. Meowington, Cat, 6 years, Domestic Short Hair) Where as System B primary grouping is based on colour (e.g. Meowington, Cat, 6 Years, Brown/White)

So if I wanted to report on how many domestic short hairs were "brown/white" I couldn't easily do so.

I know this isnt much to go off but maybe if im pointed in the right directions the pieces will start to fall together!?

J

This question too long but with less information.

I request you to put some basic excel table with System A,B C diagram and show what do you want as an outcome so that I can help you.

you can watch my Youtube videos on www.youtube.com/perepavijay where you might find a solution
