Hi everyone.
We have experienced problems when using row subtotals by row level. In a pre-existent report with 4 row levels, we tried to disable every one and then just only activate one. But it's not working.
Reverting to the old format pane solved the problem, so maybe it's a thing to work on.
Thank you!

I don't see this in your screenshot can you confirm you see this toggle, does this solve your issue?
Hi @RosieL !! Thanks a lot about your reply! IT WORKED!!
We didn't understand that way how the new controls are working. But now it's clear for me.
Thanks again, great work!!
Would you be able to provide an example? The old format pane will be replaced with the new format pane in the May 2022 Power BI Desktop release, so it's good to report these issues at the link below:

I can't provide the .pbix file because of intellectual property, but I can show some screenshots:
I have a requirement to remove all subtotals except the main one:
I can achieve it in the old panel, by going to subtotals, activate By row level:
And disabling all series except one:
But when I'm doing the same under the new Format pane, choosing any series doesn't do anything. Nothing. The table shows no change and all totals or the selected ones in the old panel are shown.
I've just downloaded last version available (Versión: 2.104.941.0 64-bit (abril de 2022)) and it keeps happening the same.

My subtotals doesn't work on this new version. Turning off subtotals turns off grand totals instead. I have found that the easiest things are the most difficult to accomplish on PBI. Coming from tableau, I am pulling my hair here. These would have been 2 clicks. I have spent hours trying to figure out how to hide subtotals in a power bi matrix. Unbelievable.
ead.
