Hello
I'm getting the following error when I want to load a new table from a SQL database that I already have as my source. In fact, I have a lot of boards and I've never had this mistake before.
Do you know what it's due to?
Hi @Syndicate_Admin ,
The error message "Microsoft SQL : The target principal name is incorrect .Cannot generate SSPI context." in Power BI usually occurs when there is an issue with the Service Principal Name (SPN) configuration. The SPN is a unique identifier of a service instance that is used by Kerberos authentication to associate a service instance with a service logon account. A misconfigured SPN can cause the error message you are seeing.
To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:
1. Click on File and select Option and settings.
2. Click on Data Source Settings.
3. Select the data source that is causing the error.
4. Click on Edit Permissions.
5. Check the box next to Use the Service Account.
6. Click on OK.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you can try using the Kerberos Configuration Manager tool to troubleshoot the issue. The tool can help you identify and fix issues with the SPN configuration.
