I have a matrix built from a table and for some unknown reason I am unable to pull the negative values I can see on the table into the matrix. They simply will not show. Please see screenshots of my table, the matrix sorted by amount as well as the filters on the matrix. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @MeToo_ ,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Thanks for the screenshots really helpful! It looks like the issue is happening because your PartTran_ExtCost column has negative values formatted like ($3,474.00), and Power BI is reading those as text instead of numbers. That’s why they’re not showing up properly in your matrix visual.
A quick way to fix this is to create a small sample table using the Enter Data option in Power BI. Just add a few values like ($3,474.00) and $1.11 under a column called PartTran_ExtCost. After loading the data, go into Transform Data to open the Power Query Editor. At this point, the column should still be set to text, which is fine we’ll clean it up first. You’ll need to remove things like the dollar signs, commas, and parentheses so the values become clean numeric strings. Once that’s done, change the column’s data type to Decimal Number, then click Close & Apply to go back to your report.
Now when you build your matrix visual, adding Equipment to Rows and PartTran_ExtCost to Values, those negative numbers should display correctly. If you prefer, you can even format them later to show up with parentheses again for a cleaner look.
Please go through the screenshot and pbix file which i have shared.

My issue is not resolved. I do see the negative numbers on the table but they're not coming through lon the matrix

Those wrapped in () are negative. You can adjust the field format to specify how you want negatives to be formatted
