Need to convert Date Column in to Month in date format

Hi ,

I need a help to convert date column into month but in date folrmat itself. 

I have used format([date],"MMM") option but it gives me result in text format which doesnot let me sort data based on month in visualization.

Is there any way to convert date column in MM-YY in date format itself?

You can do that in the Modeling pane -> Format, located under the Data Type.
