Need help with grouping !!!

Hello all. I am trying to do a "Group By"  like I do in Cognos or Excel. I see in Power BI there is an option to create a new "Group" but that is not working the way I need it to. When I look at the create new Group option in Power BI, it is wanting me to select all members of the group. We have over a 100 unique groups at my company which have multiple "Clients" for each group. I am attaching a screenshot of an excel file out-put which I am trying to replicate.

Long story short, I created a list style report in Power BI and I need the ouput to show each "Group Name" grouped by their associated "Client Names" within their group.

If you take a look at the below screenshot, it shows the report in excel, showing a "Group Name" of "United Health (20111) and next to that group, its associated "Client Names" of: "Pathology Associates" & Radiologists of US" for example. This is easily done in Cognos or Excel. I am really hoping there is a way to do this in Power BI!. Some one please help!

Thank you

@Audi_B,

Do you have the GroupName field in your original table? If you have such a field, you can create a Matrix visual following the guide in  this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/desktop-matrix-visual.

However, if you don't have the GroupName field, you can create the field using DAX.

If you can't get expected result in Power BI, please share sample data of your table here as described in this post: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490.

Lydia
