getting similar problem from 26-Apr-24. All users when connecting PowerBI Desktop (
2.128.751.0) to Semantic model get error pop as above. Logs show nothing useful. PowerBI service reports are rendering just fine. Dataset is refreshing just fine. Only issue when using PowerBI Desktop. Clearing cache makes no difference.
Hi @Ganty_gurl
@Idrissshatila Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Allow me to share my views here.
Based on the error message you provided, it appears that there is an issue with the JavaScript code, which may be related to the rendering or loading of visual elements in Power BI.
You can try the following actions:
Clear the cache and restart Power BI Desktop. Sometimes, corrupted cache files can cause errors to be generated. Try clearing the cache by navigating to the folder and deleting its contents. After performing this action, restart Power BI Desktop.
The error message indicates a problem with deserialising visual object properties. Try identifying and deleting any custom or recently added visual objects from the report, and then reload it to see if the problem persists.
Make sure you are running the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
If you have a backup version of the report or a previously saved version, try opening that version to see if it loads correctly.
Regards,
Nono Chen
