Multiple users refreshing data source in shared environment problems

Hello!

I have a bit of a niche problem with is becoming an issue as I gear up to take some holiday leave.

Basically, I've created a power BI desktop project which draws from a number of tabs in an excel workbook. Both the Power BI project and my excel file are saved in a SharePoint location that my team has access to.

While I'm away my team will be updating the data in the excel file, and will need to refresh the data in the power bi project. The problem is that it looks like the connection to the workbook is taking place through my user credentials, so even though my teammates do have access to the files, a simple refresh wont work. So far the only work around is that they need to manually reset the connection for each dataset.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a work around for this scenario??

This shouldn't be a problem if the file is stored in SharePoint. I have reports that refresh while users are accessing the underlying data. The only issue is the refresh may be inaccurate in these cases if the update the user is keying in isn't fully saved. For example, if a row of data to update has 7 columns to update and they key in 3, then the file auto-saves (autosave must be on for this to work or locks will happen) and the report refreshes, it will get a bogus result for that record that only has 3 of the 7 necessary values.
