Multiple row hierarchies in matrix

I'd like to be able to roll up sales by year/month and country/region independently, so that it's easy to move around all of the possible combinations:

- Annual sales by country

- Annual sales by region

- Monthly sales by country

- Monthly sales by region

The matrix visualization lets me do this, but only if I repeat the sales in columns:

If I have a lot of dates and I'm looking at several measures, the number of columns gets awkward fast.   What I really want is to have both the regions and the dates as independent drillable rows.  Matrix almost does that, but it forces one hierarchy to be under the other, e.g.,

Now I have a reasonable number of columns, but the problem is I have no way to get to annual sales by country.   What I really want is to be able to zoom up and down on both the date hierarchy and the country hierarchy independently.  Is this possible?  Am I just trying to use the wrong visualizer?

Any assistance gratefully appreciated!

@William_K I'm having the same issue. Did you find the solution or any workaround?

@William_K I guess that's what it is  based on what you are looking for 😶

@William_K you just need to add those columns for week and quarter, create your own hierarchy and use it in the visuals.

Oh I think I see what you mean:  have one visual where the date heirarchy is under the country hierarchy (as in the second picture above) and then another one where the country hierarchy is under the date hierarchy?

Also do-able as a workaround but it would be kind of disappointing if that was the best option.

@William_K maybe use two different visuals, one showing sales by year and country, and the other to drill down to date.

Possible, but kind of clunky compared to actually having two drillable hierarchies.  What if I wanted to be able wanted to roll up not just year and month but also quarter and week?  Four visuals for the same data?
