Multiple Visual Drill down/up option

Hi Community Members,

We all aware that for visual with hierarchy field we can drill up/down as per user convienience.

I came across use case that, in a dashboard report there are five visuals with same hierarchy field (date hierarchy - Day, month, quater, year). Ideally user can drill/down each visual as per their convienience.

There is a requirement to sync the drill down/up state across all five visuals in a report.

In a simple terms, user wants to drill down/up to different date hierarchy in a single go not by drill down/up with five each visual.

Is there a way to do that, if not power bi have any plan to inculde drill down/up sync feature across visuals having same hierarchy field.

Thanks,

Pugal

Hi everyone

I found a workaround using bookmarks.

- From the "View" tab select "Bookmarks"

- In the "Bookmarks" pane click on "Add"

- Rename your bookmark to "default" by double clicking on the bookmark (Optional)
- Select all visuals on which you would like to perform a drill down. (ctrl + click to select multiple visuals)
- Right click on your bookmark and click on "Selected visuals". This option activates the bookmark only on the selected visuals

- Right click again, and click on "update".

- Create a new bookmark and name it "drill-down"

- Activate the "Selected visuals" option on this bookmark as well

- Perform a drill-down on all visuals one by one

- Update the "drill-down" bookmark the same way as mentioned above.

Now when you click on the bookmarks, it will change the drill down state of your visuals. You can now add your bookmarks to, for example shapes and use these to controll drill down.

Note: This method ignores slicers which were not selected when updating the visual. This can also be usefull in many cases.

I hope this is of some help

This would be super helpful to my team.  I have a report that has 6 nearly-identical visuals on it.  They'd like to drill down (not filter) on one, and have them all drill down the same way.  Currently they must click each one individually and drill down.
