I have some measures in a report that is connected to a PowerBI Dataset. I want to migrate those measures back into the original dataset.
When I create the new measure in the dataset I get an error in the report saying "the name 'x' is already used for a measure on table 'x'. Choose a different name" - now I can manually deselect the "local" measure and then select the measure from the dataset, but I have to reset all the settings and values like colors and formatting.
What I want is to just remove the measure in the Report and then just use the measure from the dataset - keeping all the other settings like formatting and settings on the visualizations that has been used. Is that possible?
I had the same problem. Double-click on the measure with the warning sign and rename it. That fixed it for me. Afterwards you can delete the measure from the model.
In my scenario and timeline:
Now my report will fail due to having a duplicate of the "Users Rls Count" measure with the following error message:
"The name 'Users Count' is already used for a measure on table 'users'. Choose a different name.
But now I cant rename nor delete the measure. Trying to click "..." or right-click the measure results in a "Something went wrong" dialog
