Hi There!
I have been tearing my sparse hair out re an error with sort orders for months.
Went through the whole Date table setup, sorted by month number, report Matrix works with long month name or number fine.
Change to Short Month name and it changes to alphabetical order instead. Have tried everything here and driving me nuts.
It worked on a previous report & have tried to copy everything, but this just will not work.
Cheers for any input
Drew
Hi @TillerTechnical,
I suppose you are trying to sort the text field which stored the short version of date values, right?
For this scenario, I think you can consider creating a custom sorting table for specific sorting orders. You can refer to the following blog to know more about this.

@TillerTechnical , If it month or month year you need a sort column
--Month Year
Month Year = FORMAT([Date],"mmm-yyyy")
Month Year sort = FORMAT([Date],"yyyymm")
Sort on Month Year sort
Month = FORMAT([Date],"mmm")
Month sort = FORMAT([Date],"mm")
Sort on Month sort

Thanks Amitchandak,
I did do that, setting up a month sort column and followed normal processes as you suggested, though it has not worked.
