I have a Table which contains following two Columns,
I made a measure with the following definition,
Total Resources = DISTINCTCOUNT(Table[Emp_No])
And made a Card Visual to show the Total Resources Value.
Along with that, I made a Slicer for Month, to filter the Card's value according to the Month Selected.
But when I select a specific month, the card value doesn't change and it remains the same as if no month is selected.
(I first made a different Calendar Table and used the Month attribute of that Calendar table to make a Slicer, but that also did not work for me)
Unfortuatnely, as the data is confidential, I am unable to share the file. But I can share some screenshots on this,
(As you can see, All Month are selected and value is 6234)
And now, if I select a specific Month, this value has no effect. Even though, the filter interaction is on and it also shows that the value is being filtered by the specific month.
And I am 100% certain that this value is not consistent for all the months. It should change when a specific month is selected. Why the column in the same Table is not interacting with each other?
(I also have another column named department in the same table, and when I slice the value by this Department column, this value DOES change)
We want to help you but your description is too vaugue. Please write it again clearly.
DISTINCTCOUNT(Table[Emp_No]) does not correspond to the relation diagram or slicer or filters
You dont need to hide the table names, just rename it .. so we cvan undetsand each other please
Provide example input data as table text (not a screen print) so we can import the data to build a solution for you.
Also provide the example desired output, with a clear description of the process flow.
Remember not to share private data ... we don't want you to get into trouble. 😧
Take time and care to use the same table and field names in the input, output and description so we can understand your problem and help you.
You will get a quick response if you put time, care and effort into writing clear problem descriptions.
Vaugue descriptions can waste your time and ourtime.
Look foward to helping you when the above information is forthcoming
It is difficult to tell without you sharing a snap shot of your relationships like this.
The problem might be that you are trying to apply filters the wrong way via relationships.
Sorry for sharing a bad picture, but unfortuatnely I can't share any details of the data. So, I am just keeping the relevant columns visible
Now, please be clear that I am using DISTINCT Count on the Allocation Sheet[Emp_No] attribute, and not the other attribute Emp_No of the other table.
The month slicer that I have created is coming from the same table as I mentioned previously.
