Mixup with Area and Selected Proportion of Total in Pie Charts

Hey!

So I'm relatively new to PowerBI, and I'm running into a maddening issue with pie chart visuals.  Namely, when I create a dashboard that allows portions of the pie chart to be highlighted when other parts are, I find that rather than displaying the percentage of the area to highlight, PowerBI instead highlights a proportion of the total slice of the pie much smaller, proportional to the radius of the pie and not the area.  This makes every single selection appear to be a much smaller part of the pie which is at best annoying, and at worst would be a visual that could actively misinform my stakeholders.

Does anyone know of a quick fix?  I've dabbled in settings and, apart from disabling the thing, haven't found anything.

Thanks for your help!
