Mixed data sources

Hello all

i'm a new member and it's been 2 years that i work with Power BI but i have a problem with maniplating a mixed data sources ( Excel file & Power BI datasets)

i can't play with my data like i want ( Lookup value, related tables...)

Could you help to find a solution

    irokki , You have to create a power bi dataset direct query connection and then add excel. Still you will be limited on crosstable operations, especially in direct query tables. Only related can work in a new column for direct query tables.

     

    Better is add this excel to the dataset

     

    Can you please explain what exactly is needed with an example so we can help more

    Thank you for your response !

    Well the goal is to look up if the product references in my Excel file are in my power BI dataset !

    i can't relate my Excel file to direct query directly because it 's just a test file for now ( It's not the final file)  

    i'm kinda of blocked right now 'cause of this problem ! 

    When i use the lookup value ,  this message appears :

    Column 'COM_Articles'[Product PMCB] cannot be pushed to the remote data source and cannot be used in this scenario.

    i can visualize the data in table but i can't manipulate it 😞

     i also had the idea of create a table and copy/paste the data but it doesn't work 😐 ! I'm out of ideas , could you help me
