Migrate Workspace

Hi, need your advice of workspace instance.

 

If Emp1 have create workspace "W1"and published reports, dashboards in W1, created reports, dashboards and shared the admin access/rights to other colleages Emp2 and Emp3. If Emp1 left the  organization and Emp 1 Power bi license is disabled, can Emp2 and Emp3 still have complete access to the workspace? 

 

If the others will not have the access what is the easy process to migrate the workspace (with reports)?

    Yes, they still have complete access (they don't even need to have a PRO license until Emp1 leaves). 

     

    We have a policy in our tenant that any premium workspace must have at least two valid admins at all times. If they don't then the workspace gets removed from premium until they add another admin.

      So, correct me that, if there are 2 Admins E1 & E2, if E1 left the organization and a workspace is created by E1, then even if E1 left the org E2 can access the reports under E1.. right sir?

    Hi, Anonymous 

    If you are admin , you can edit  worksapce access(new workspace) in PowerBI admin Portal.

    Here you can restore deleted workspaces, delete workspace administrators, edit workspace permissions,upgrade workspace and so on. .

    yes.

     

    Note that if the workspace is V2 (modern) then the tenant admin can recover the workspace even if E2 leaves as well.  If  however the workspace is still V1 (classic) then it will go POOF!  with no way to recover it.
