It's a shame this hateness that Microsoft and Apple has against each other. They behave like a child. How diffecult is it just to make it for mac version? We who are Data Analyst need SSM and PowerBI for us who have Mac. We can't just switch to windows because we need the unix terminal and we are in need of that. It's not like we choose mac just because it's Apple or on a hype company.
It's 2019, release at least PowerBI dekstop for Mac users. And no we don't wanna use useless software like VM or any thirdpart software.
I don't think it is a matter of hate. Microsoft has embraced iOS and Android for many of its apps.
There is an Idea out there but it is Not Planned. https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/7546645-power-bi-designer-for-mac
I think that if you look at Data Flows, the focus is on bringing the authoring capabilities to the web versus the Mac.
If you need a unix terminal, you can do that with Windows 10, it's a built-in feature of the OS. https://www.howtogeek.com/249966/how-to-install-and-use-the-linux-bash-shell-on-windows-10/
There's also a built-in ssh client in Windows 10 too. https://www.howtogeek.com/336775/how-to-enable-and-use-windows-10s-built-in-ssh-commands/
If you're only using Apple OS to get a unix terminal, I don't think that's a very solid reason but don't expect a Mac version of Power BI Desktop very soon.
