Hi all, I constantly ran into an error when I tried to start a new blank report and import data from Microsoft SQL server using the Windows credentials:
I tested it on a different computer with a older version Power BI and the problem was solved, so I believe it might be a version issue as I just installed the latest on my device. Does anyone have any clue how I fix this? Thanks a lot!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Regarding your questions, you can try adding the server name to your computer's environment variables.
Something like this.
Variable Name: PBI_SQL_TRUSTED_SERVERS
Variable Value: SQL Server Name <--enter your sql server name here
For multiple servers, you need to use a comma and space (, ) to separate each server in the value field. You can also use an asterisk (*) for servers of the same name.
Variable Name: PBI_SQL_TRUSTED_SERVERS
Variable Value: SQL Server Name01, SQL Server Name02, SQL Server Name03
or
Variable Name: PBI_SQL_TRUSTED_SERVERS
Variable Value: SQL Server Name*
Or check the option to encrypt the connection in Power BI Desktop.
Best Regards,
Wenbin Zhou
