Microsoft Gant 2.2.3 Chart Help
Hi,
I'm not very experienced with PowerBI, but I'm exploring ways it might help with a task I've been assigned. I need to maintain a visual calendar that someone currently creates in Excel. The process involves manually merging cells and color-coding them to combine four different calendars into one. It's a tedious task as these dates are changing often , and I'm looking for ways to automate it.
This is dummy version of essentially what it looks like:
I went through several of the custom visual gantt apps available and the Microsoft 2.2.3 is the one the got me the closest visually.
To get it to work I had to set it up like this:
Task : Type ( Primary, Secondary, etc)
Parent: Channel
Resource: Event Name ( This was the only way I could get them to show on the boxes)
A few questions:
- Is there anyway I can also get the fiscal week to show?
- Is there a way to add some sort of visual marker between the weeks?
- When I put "event name" into resoruce, it made all the boxes the same color. Is there any way around this? I would love to have atleast each channel have a different color.
Thank you for your help

You can achieve this view using the xViz Gantt chart. In the Gantt chart there option to change the Chart type to Resource chart, which can achieve exactly similar view
This allows you to display multiple events in a single row for each primary event.
You can read about the xViz Gantt Resource Chart in the full blog here: How to manage multiple phases of projects in Power BI using Gantt Chart (xviz.com)
