Microsoft Exchange Online missing folders

Hi,

I'm trying to analyze emails from a shared Exchange Online mailbox, but a custom folder is not getting imported.

Here is the folder in Outlook 365:

And here is a list of all of the unique folder paths once the data has been loaded in and refreshed:

Any ideas as to why this folder is being missed? It has a large number of emails in it (60k), but I can't find any documented limits that would be the reason for it being missed?

Cheers

Hi @mdjobling ,

If your administrator has only recently provided you access to a shared mailbox, it may take a short time before the shared mailbox automatically appears in your Outlook profile. If the shared mailbox does not automatically display in Outlook, you may need to restart Outlook to see the shared mailbox.

And according to this article,

  • You may be not seeing the shared mailbox in Outlook after you have migrated the on-premises mailboxes to Office 365 and that time not connected to the shared mailbox that has been shared with you.
  • Sometimes, you may see an error while looking for the shared mailbox –
Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found.
  • The cause behind the error may be due to your permission level also. If the Administrator grants the access rights through the Dialog Access, then it means that the Administrator has only shared the default folders like inbox, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes, etc. and the user can send/receive emails on behalf the account. But it does not mean that the user may include the shared mailbox to his/her Outlook account.

Best Regards,
Eyelyn Qin

Thanks Eyelyn, however I've had access to this mailbox for over a year and I can access the folder and the contained emails without issue in Outlook.
