Super UserInstead of fixing the rows and columns, how about adding a matrix that only displays the total value?

Currently, Power BI does not support freezing columns in a Matrix visual including the total column. When you have many columns and scroll horizontally, all columns (including totals) will scroll out of view.
A commonly used approach is to simulate this behavior by using two Matrix visuals:
- One matrix to display only the Total column (placed on the left)
- Another matrix to display the remaining columns
- Align both visuals side by side so it appears as a single table
If this feature is important for your scenario, you may consider submitting or upvoting an idea in the Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community , as it’s a known limitation and a common request.

You’re absolutely right the two-matrix approach does not support synchronized vertical scrolling and can lead to row misalignment.
Currently, Power BI does not support freezing columns or syncing scroll between visuals, so this scenario isn’t fully achievable today.
This is a known limitation and raising it in the Ideas forum would be the best path forward.
