Merge 2 datasets into one

Hi, I have two apps (two powerBI files) both files use the same database (in my Sql server) when I publish them, It creates two different datasets on powerBI online, and I have to configure schedule refresh for both, but I want to have only one dataset, because is the same database and the same server.

So my question is, can I have two or three apps and only one dataset in powerBI online?

thanks a lot!

csanz27 In power bi desktop connect to your dataset from sql server database and create a report as you want. Then publish that file which will only give you one dataset and one report. Then in power bi service, go to that dataset under Datasets and create a new report -> File -> Save. This will give you multiple reports all using the same dataset.

    Hi Csanz,

If your upload two different Pbix file surely it will create new dataset no doubt this is power BI Nature.

The datasets may use same server and database but different tables or queries. I think that's why individual datasets. If the two pbix files use the exact same tables and queries, to use one dataset, seperate the reports into different pages instead of using two files. Or you can also create individual reports in Power BI Service against one dataset.
