Newish to powerbi and have run into something I can't figure out.
I am taking gross production numbers (oil, gas, water) production and using another table that has Working Interest % to calculate a net of each number. There is a reference number that ties each well's production to its WI %
It worked on oil. I created a measure Net Oil = (sum('Daily Production'[Oil]))*(sum('JIB Decks'[WI Decimal]))
When I place that measure into a calculated column in 'Daily Production' everything shows up right.
However I can't get any of the products to calculate properly, nor can I get them to show up in calculated columns when I reference the measure in fact it keeps reseting the column name and everything when I do.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
that sounds very odd, are you able to share your model? of at least some sample data that is similar.
firstly so just checking in about why you are using a calculated column rather than a measure?
one would need to understand what is in your table/s and how they are linked up.
Also how are you checking if it is right or wrong? You will need to provide more information in order to get a constructive answer. One needs to undertand what your whole model looks like to see where things might be going wrong. How are you placing it on a visual? What fields arre you using. I don't quite get how the name can reset? what are the steps you are doing?

I'm not sure how to share the model. I'm trying to create a chart that I can slice between gross and net numbers, as well as chose certain wells for the plot.
I made a measure but the way the measure worked it just gave me one large number instead of individual net numbers matching to gross which is why I inserted it into a calculated column.
