Hello, Power BI community,
I'd like to achieve the effect of merged cells visualization in Power BI table visual. (I couldn't use matrix for this visualization as I'd like to have a concatanateX measure of date in the first column due to the cross filtering requirement.) I'd like to use Power BI instead of Excel to create task table by date, because merged cells in Excel is a nightmare when updaging manually. Is there a way to group together the same values in ConcatenateX m/d measure field in the visualization below? Thanks for your help!

@DataNinja777 could you provide some sample data and the expected output? It is not clear what you are trying to achieve. Read this post to get your answer quickly.

Hi @parry2k
Thanks for your comment on this topic. I cannot share the sample data, but it is a generic question of whether a table visual can achieve merged cell effect like in Excel or not. What I'd like to achieve is as follows:
I am creating a monthly task lists of under 445 calendar which I can click different calendar month and get the task list for the particular month instead of updating this list every month by repetition in Excel. As there is one routine task for every month where there are multiple tasks in a given day, which is linked to many Year Months in 445 calendar table, and also, due to the fact that filtering of table accepts only one direction from one to many side, the creation of this task list using Power Pivot data model got more complicated that I thought.
The reason I cannot use matrix visual is that matrix visual seems to require aggregation of the multiple text colums like Excel pivot table and I prefer not having to write ConcatenateX of many text columns and also, I'd like each unique row in the task list data table to be shown separately without getting concatenated in one line. I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know how to achieve merged cell effect or if there is more flexible matrix/table visual like custom visual which allows that.
