Matrix: expand to the last level but for a single element

Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to unfold to the last level but for a single element, for exemple of the level 6 (and then unfold the first element of the level 6 to the last level).
I know that it's possible but you need to click multiple times or unfold all of the elements of the level 6 at the same time.

Hi,@Ritaf1983 .Thank you very much for your help and very detailed advice on this issue.
Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hello,@Anonymous .I am glad to help you.
As @ mentioned, for the default matrix functionality, it is not directly possible to expand only the last level of data while keeping the top five levels contracted, and you are aware of the limitations of the matrix visual object in power BI for this case.
But you followed up by suggesting that it is possible to use field parameters to artificially control the effect of the data displayed in the matrix, which I think is a better solution.
And I tried the method, from a certain point of view he can realize your needs, in the display of the target field at the same time, reducing the intermediate level fields

Here is my test:
I created test data that has multiple levels:

For the effect you show in the screenshot, if I use the default matrix and want to show the Employee data at the bottom, I need to expand the hierarchy all the way manually

vjtianmsft_2-1722837965088.png
Use the field parameter:

By using field parameters, you can artificially control the hierarchy displayed in visual

I think your idea is great, and while it doesn't directly address your immediate need, it achieves a similar effect by avoiding the need for users to manually expand multiple hierarchical fields

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Best Regards,

Carson Jian,

@Ritaf1983 I know this solution but this expand also (in your example) the other countries.
Is it possible to extand to the last level (in your example) Afghanistan only ?

Hi @Anonymous

Sorry for misunderstanding you. I thought you wanted to expand everything under the top-level category you selected in all levels. Unfortunately, there are no other alternatives.

Additionally, in general, having so many levels is not very user-friendly. It might be better to allow the user to select 2-3 desired hierarchies to analyze at a time using field parameters.

@Ritaf1983
In this case the user need to know what type of stop is and there is a hierarchy for stops with 5 level and there is in the last level the comment (made by technician). I didn't find better disposition to show all of that.
But maybe with field parameters I can remove time element from the matrix. (I don't use field parameters never) So I can learn a new skill (I'm in internship).

Thanks.
