Good Afternoon,
I have a Matrix, where one can toggle between absolute (numeric) values and percentages (%s) and vica versa to see the performance of a particular KPI for each Speciality by Month.. The toggle functionality is based on a Field Parameter.
Here is the problem scenario I have:
1) User starts off by looking at absolute (numeric) values in the Matrix.
2) Manually orders the Specialty rows in Ascending order from lowest to highest.
3) Momentarily wished to see the percentages (%s) - instead of absolute (numeric) values - for the KPI and thus invoke the toggle functionality for this purpose.
4) The absolute (numeric) values do convert to %s (as desired). However, the ordering of the Specialty Rows become reset/distorted. Admittedly, the ordering is very unlikely to be the same between absolute (numeric) values and %s for the KPI.
The basic issue is that the User had wished to momentarily view the percentages (%s) for a particular Speciality in the context of its absolute (numeric) values ordering.
I would appreciate any suggestions for a possible solution.
Hi @F_Reh ,
I'm sorry, but could you please provide a sample of the data (don't include any private data!). Is it? It's a good idea to include the field parameters that you use to switch functions. I've done multiple tests, but unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce what you're experiencing.
Also, if you want to implement toggle between absolute (numeric) values and percentages (%s), there are other ways to do it:
Here's the sample data I used for testing:
In the first way, you can select the matrix and switch the display format in the "value" section:
Or you can use DAX to switch the function, you can refer to this document for specific steps:

I've implemented this method myself in Desktop, and I'll attach the pbix file below.
I've tested both of the above methods, and they don't show the problem you're facing. If you still want to use parameters for the switch, please also provide the necessary sample data and the parameters you are using.
Best Regards,
Dino Tao
