Hi all,
I have a shapefile that contains linestring types which shows a road network and I would like to use this to show the traffic volume along the different roads. However, it seems that PowerBI doesn't support linestrings.
Has anyone found a workaround for this or have any suggestions?
I did solve this. Converted the SHP file to CSV -> WKT using QGIS. This resulted in multiple lines of the coordinates I needed. So it was just a matter of transposing in Excel the lines I had that matched the category I supplied. Final look is like this: LINESTRING(coor1 coor2, coor3 coor4, etc)
What do you select in location type when using the format LINESTRING(coor1 coor2, coor3 coor4, etc)? I tried this format and the map is still showing up blank.
Thank you!
@ksan048 No Power BI map currently supports linestrings. If you want to try a potential workaround, you could try converting lines to polygons using a tool such as QGIS, then converting to TopoJSON and bringing it into the Shape Map. That may work for you .
@some1else Try That bruh
Give a try ✌️
Also interested on this. Anyone got some input? Would be great if passing the mouse cursor over the line, it giving more info about that particular set of start/end point.
