Map Visual Guidance
- Anonymous1 year ago
Hi BIswajit_Das ,
Thanks for your follow-up! Here's a quick summary addressing your questions:
Q1: Custom Street Colors
Azure Maps doesn't currently allow custom colors for streets (like turning roads blue). The map style (e.g., "Road", "Night", etc.) controls the overall look, but individual street color formatting isn't supported.
Q2: Filtering Specific Street Areas
Yes, to zoom in or focus on specific streets when applying filters, having latitude and longitude data is highly recommended. It ensures accurate map rendering and dynamic interaction.
Q3: Visualizing Roads for a Single State
You don’t need detailed road coordinates for the whole state. If your data already has lat/long for locations of interest, Azure Maps will handle the visualization. If you only have street names, you may need to enrich your data using a geocoding service.
Also, here are a few threads that may help with similar scenarios:

You can also try the Google Maps for Power BI visual by Dynamica Labs LTD from AppSource.

Hello Anonymous
Thanks for your response
Q1 :
In this visual can I apply color formatting like the above attached map image (where street are blue in color)
Q2 :
When I filter a street it should be only visualize that area (do I need long & lat data fields for that ??).
Q3 :
This visual is for a single state so do I need that specific road co-ordinates for the visualization.
Thanks & Regards...
