Lost Power BI capability?

Hi,

Back in the days of content packs, a user could make a copy of a dataset and then "play" with it in their own workspace.

This is really convenient if you want users to create their own temporary reports.

Now, with apps, app users cannot do anything with the datasets, other than the "analyze in excel" option.

If I want to allow my users to create their own temporary reports, I need to make them members of the app workspace,

but then whatever they create gets published to the app when I update the app.

Am I missing any other way to allow users to use a published dataset?

Thanks.

Hi @zivhimmel,

Until now, the apps can't be edited by others. If one use want to use the dataset, he should be a member of the app workspace. And he must have the edit permission of dataset. There is an idea here, you can review and vote it.

Thanks,
Angelia
