List of functions mapping Excel vs Power Query Editor
Hello,
I use Excel but I am new to Power BI. Does anyone have a list of "Functions Mapping" between Excel and Power Query Editor?
For Example:
"Search" Function in Excel is equivelant to "Text.PositionOf" in Power Query Editor.
"Left" Function in Excel is equivelant to "Text.Start" in Power Query Editor.
"Right" Function in Excel is equivelant to "Text.End" in Power Query Editor.
"Upper" Function in Excel is equivelant to "Text.Upper" in Power Query Editor.
.... etc

You should consider DAX completely separate from Excel formula/functions.
DAX has more strict preference on what sort of data structure should be fed to it, when compared to Excel formula.
I've seen too many people that struggled to grasp DAX and benefits of relationships when looking at it from Excel angle.
Trust me, it will be easier to approach DAX as fresh new tool separate from Excel, even though it's made available in Excel's data model.
It's much like learning another language; learning through translation will be more difficult, rather than diving in and learning language through experience. Some concepts doesn't translate very well between languages.

That's a tall order particularly when you consider that Excel macro language is far more analogous to DAX than to M code. Is there a specific list you are interested in? Consider that there are about 250 Excel functions, you need all of them?
If you ask nicely, maybe ImkeF could put something like this together or already has.

Unfortunately I don't have such a list.
The categories where you're most likely to find equivalent Excel-functions will be Text-, Number and Date(Time) functions. The other catagories don't have that many similarities to Excel functions.
