Line chart with multiple years rolling totals

I need help creating line chart that shows running totals of 3 different years. I was able to figure out how to correctly calculate running total based on selected slicer date, but I'm not sure what I need to do to produce running total for previous years to be able to compare how Sales changed between years.

My current dashboard looks like the following.

I want to create something like the following, also instead of displaying month year as legend on X-Axis i just want to show month name without year in order not to confuse the user with year being present on the chart but showing data that is from different years.

I have attached my PBIX file in the link provided below.

Thank you for the response. This helps a lot when comparing calendar years. Unfortunatly requirements in my case do not correspond to calendar years. Most time periods cross years and those ranges are what need to be compared for example:

Year 1: Sept, 2020 - Aug, 2021
Year 2: Sept, 2021 - Aug, 2022
Year 3: Sept, 2022 - Aug, 2023

Since those boundries are not set and can be changed by user is what has created complexity for me that I have not been able to solve yet.

Hello @Anonymous

would it be a possible solution for you if you add the year as legend for your chart ?
