Line Chart Analytics

Hi,

I have a line chart with a Date Year Month as my X-axis and 4 measures within my Y-axis.

I want to use a trend line from the Analytics tab but this option isn't available. Any idea why or how to create a trend line please?

Hi, @M_SBS_6

There are a few reasons why the Analytics tab might not be available.

The ability to add trend lines from the Analytics pane depends on the type of visual you're using. For line charts that contain time data, trend lines should generally be available. However, if the visual isn't recognized as a time series, or if it's used in conjunction with other types of visuals that don't support trend lines, this could be a reason for unavailability.
Trend lines require a time-based x-axis to work properly. Make sure Power BI recognizes the Date, Year, Month axis as a date hierarchy.

Make sure you're using the version of Power BI Desktop that supports trend lines in the Analytics pane. Although this feature is widely supported, using an outdated version may limit your access to certain features.
