LINE GRAPHS

We have a CSV data dump with a large number of engine parameters (pressure, temperature, etc) which we would like to trend (value vs date/time) on an on-going basis using PBI. There is a large number of repeat values which result in PBI defaulting to the aggregates. Is there some way that this can be handled in PBI or should we revert to Excel (which does not have the portal/reporting options)?

    Hi riaanbreedt ,

    Power BI is an aggregation tool. So, it will aggregate the same date's records. The way around this would be to create a index column to provide the uniqueness of rows.

    Can you post a copy of one of your graphs (without sensitive data)?

     

    I am wondering if this is due to the date setup. I think i have had this before but just want to check before answering.

      Hi,

      Below some of the data which is a mixture of run hours, temperatures, pressures, etc. with data captured more or less every 4 hours. So 1st column is date.time and the 2nd is the value (fixed decimal) and the graph usually defaults to count instead of the actual value (because repeated values). Hope this helps.
