Kpis modeling - general question

Hi all,

I am creating my first kpi's dashboard.

I have some doubts  whith what is the best practice to create it.

Specialy my question is about goals and targets.

For Example my first  KPI relates to Time of Typying order by sales support.

The goal is 80% of all orders should be typed to ERP in less then 1 day.

How may i create the goals as table ? as measure ? improt it from excel?

Thanks a lot,

Rita

If the amount of KPI-target values are few there is no issue with having them as constants in a measure. If anything i would move the "0.8" into a different measure in case that you need to use the target value in other calculations.

Target % = 0.8

TargetValue = [NumOrders]*[Target %]

It very much depends on how you work generally. If the KPI targets are prone to change often it might be reasonable to have these values in an external source. If you implement the KPI values into the pbix-file it will mean that any changes to them will also have to be done in the Pbix and this might not always be a good solution.

What are your current concerns regarding the matter?

Hi ,

Thank you for your repli

The goals are preety stable .

I just not sure , that my way is a good enough because it's my firt skpi's project.

I think it's can be simple mesure like:

Target = [NumOrders]*0.8 (for goal)

And

NumTypedOrders = calculate (distinctcount([NumOrders), filter(TimeOrdering = "0-1 days))/[NumOrders] (for excecution)
